3、emonstrated that children live in a complex ecological system, and their social behaviors receives effects from many microsystems, like the family and the school, which are the most direct and close contexts children liv
4、e in. The purpose of the present study is to explore the roles of parenting and teachers’ beliefs play on children’s social behaviors. A sample of 483 kindergarten children participated in our study. Their social behavi
5、ors including self control, prosocial behaviors, sociability and aggression were collected through teacher-report and observation coding of free-play. Parents reported their own parenting, and teachers were asked to answ
6、er to an open question which answer was coded into their teaching beliefs. There were three dimensions of parenting including encouragement of independence, harsh parenting and social emotional support, and five dimensio
7、ns of teachers’ beliefs including encouragement of independence, rule setting, encouragement of harmony, control, and didactic teaching. Hierarchical linear model was used to analyze the data. The results revealed that p
8、arenting had a significant effect on children’s social behaviors, and harsh parenting played a role on children’s self control and sociability. Teachers’ beliefs also had a significant effect, and the more teachers highl
9、ighted rules and the less they were didactic, the more children showed aggressive behaviors; the more they highlighted harmony, the less children showed sociability; the more they used control and didactic teaching, the
